Karl Butcherson
Karl Butcherson is one of the oldest men in town and one of the most respected. While he has no official rank, Mayor Hanson realizes it would be difficult for him to push any policies without his support and he often seeks his advice and works to maintain his good favor.
Karl maintains a small vegetable garden next to his house on town square, which he sells to other townsfolk for necessities, though his children also provide for many of his needs. In his younger days he worked the family butcher business, but he left that work to his sons to relax in his old age.
Karl greatly enjoys sitting on his porch talking to other town elders, townsfolk seeking his influence, or just passersby. He is a conservative and curmudgeonly fellow, suspicious of strangers.
